Peer Review Process

Journal OSTI (Originality System of Technology Information) employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and objectivity in the evaluation of all submitted manuscripts. Below is an outline of the peer-review process:

  1. Initial Submission Check:
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes a preliminary review by the editorial office to verify its alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and compliance with ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are returned to the authors for revision or are rejected outright.

  2. Editor Assignment:
Manuscripts that pass the initial check are assigned to a member of the editorial team, who serves as the handling editor. The handling editor oversees the review process and ensures its timely progression.

  3. Reviewer Selection:
The handling editor selects two or more qualified reviewers who are experts in the manuscript's subject area. Reviewers are carefully chosen to avoid conflicts of interest and to ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation.

  4. Double-Blind Review:
OSTI employs a double-blind review process, meaning that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to one another. This ensures that the review is free from bias related to the authors' identities or affiliations.

  5. Reviewer Evaluation:
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, technical rigor, methodology, clarity, relevance to the field, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge. They provide detailed feedback and recommendations, which may include acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection.

  6. Editorial Decision:
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the handling editor makes an initial decision regarding the manuscript. This decision is reviewed and approved by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure consistency and adherence to the journal’s standards.

  7. Author Revision:
If revisions are required, authors are given the opportunity to respond to the reviewers’ comments and resubmit a revised version of their manuscript. The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

  8. Final Decision:
After the revision process is complete, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript. The authors are notified of the decision, along with any additional feedback.
