Repository Policy
OSTI (Originality System of Technology Information) supports the principles of open access and encourages authors to share their research widely. The journal allows the self-archiving of manuscripts at all stages of the publication process, empowering authors to maximize the visibility and impact of their work.
Self-Archiving Rights
Authors are permitted to archive the following versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, preprint servers, or other publicly accessible repositories:
-
Preprint Version (Submitted Manuscript):
- The version submitted to OSTI before peer review.
- May be shared immediately after submission without any restrictions.
- Authors must include a statement acknowledging that the manuscript has been submitted to OSTI (e.g., "This article has been submitted to OSTI (Originality System of Technology Information) for consideration.").
-
Postprint Version (Accepted Manuscript):
- The version of the manuscript that has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication but has not yet undergone final formatting and typesetting by OSTI.
- May be shared immediately after acceptance.
- Authors are encouraged to include the following acknowledgment:
"This is the accepted version of an article published in OSTI (Originality System of Technology Information). The final published version is available at [DOI or journal URL]."
-
Published Version (Version of Record):
- The final, formatted, and published version of the article.
- May be shared immediately upon publication without any embargo.
- Authors must include proper attribution to OSTI, including the article’s DOI, journal name, and licensing information (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Licensing Requirements
All versions of the manuscript shared in repositories or preprint servers must include the following licensing information:
- Articles published in OSTI are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license, allowing for sharing, adaptation, and distribution with proper attribution.
Recommended Practices for Archiving
- Authors should link the archived version to the official published version on the OSTI website, ensuring that readers can access the most accurate and final version of the article.
- Metadata for the archived manuscript should include the article’s DOI, publication date, and journal name.
