Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector play a vital role in the national economy. However, many of them still face challenges in production efficiency, system integration, and business data management. Most SMEs continue to rely on manual recordkeeping and disconnected workflows, which lead to inefficiencies, data inaccuracies, and reduced competitiveness. To address these issues, the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system offers a strategic solution, as it enables the integration of various business processes into a single, efficient, and data-driven digital platform. Unfortunately, ERP adoption among SMEs remains low due to limited knowledge, technical capacity, and the perception that ERP systems are costly and complex. This program proposes a training and mentoring initiative to support the implementation of open-source ERP systems for selected manufacturing SMEs. The activities include needs assessment, development of tailored training modules, hands-on technical workshops, and direct mentoring for ERP system adoption within each business unit. A participatory and practical approach will be used to ensure that participants gain comprehensive understanding and operational skills to manage ERP systems independently. The expected outcomes include improved digital capabilities among SMEs, successful ERP implementation at the enterprise level, and the establishment of an ERP user community for sustainability and peer support. This initiative aims to drive gradual and sustainable digital transformation among SMEs, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening the competitiveness of small manufacturers in the digital era.
